Manager, Underwriting

This financial institution has been providing service for over two decades in Hong Kong serving individual and institutional clients with financial protection and wealth management products. They are seeking a senior underwriting professional:
Life Insurance Underwriting Manager


Responsibilities:
• Provides medical and financial risk assessment on applications for individual life insurance applications
• Contacts field representatives, medical personnel, and others to obtain further information
• Underwrites medical cases and assigns applications within underwriting authority
• Analyzes complex information and interprets to reach comprehensive medical and financial assessments based on company guidelines and policy.
• Plans and controls the daily productivity of the Team
• Issues and signs APS with proper questionnaire
• Assists to train up new or junior underwriters
• Reviews, recommends and maintains service and quality standard as well as its improvement
• Undertakes or assists in project as assigned by supervisor




Requirements
• Tertiary education or equivalent in Medical Science
• Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua
• PC literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Chinese word processing
